About the CME Center
Welcome to the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Unit, College of Medicine (COM), King Khalid University (KKU), Abha. We strive to provide up-to-date clinical and research information in appropriate educational formats so that participants can improve their knowledge, skills, attitudes, behaviors, and clinical outcomes for their patients and students.
The aim of CME-COM-KKU is to provide College medical staff and other healthcare professionals with exemplary, cutting-edge educational activities that teach evidence-based practices and identify new and emerging healthcare needs and opportunities, from research through the delivery of care, so that, through continuing medical education, we can significantly improve medical teaching and address health problems.
Mission
To promote standards for quality continuing medical education (CME) and provide educational experiences for physicians and allied healthcare practitioners that contribute to their clinical competence and professional development.
Vision
To provide College medical staff and other healthcare professionals with exemplary, cutting-edge educational activities that teach evidence-based practices and identify current and emerging healthcare needs and opportunities, from research through the delivery of care, so that, through continuing medical education, we can improve the medical profession in both its teaching and clinical aspects. The College CME Unit will facilitate and manage educational activities and collaborate with our faculty to make these activities effective and engaging.
Specific Goals
- To enhance continuing medical education and professional development for College medical staff through conferences, workshops and skills training.
- To meet or exceed the guidelines of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, which is responsible for supervising and evaluating training programs, as well as setting controls and standards for the practice of health professions.
Target Audience
The College of Medicine (COM), King Khalid University (KKU) CME Program includes medical staff, other health professionals and students, both locally and nationally.
Values
COM-KKU fosters the continuing professional development of medical staff, other health professionals and students. Its educational offerings are intended to enhance their training and influence their behavior to improve health outcomes and the teaching profession in medical and allied fields.
Expected Results
To improve the competence and performance of College staff and thereby enable the optimal provision of healthcare. Evaluation and outcomes are assessed using various methods to determine whether the content is relevant, educational needs and objectives are met, and participants’ knowledge, competence or performance has improved.
Services
We provide our staff with the following services: SCFHS CME-hour accreditation, meeting planning, collaborative organizational activities, and issuance of attendance certificates.
